NAD C370 turntable integration

I cannot get my Marantz 6100 turntable to produce output through my NAD C370 amplifier. Following the instructions in the user guide I have connected it to the "disc" input channel which the instructions in the manual say is for "mini-disc or LP turntable." Could the problem be the age of my turntable? It worked fine with my NAD 110 amplifier. Any ideas on a turntable that will work? Any help is much appreciated.
