Here are a few ideas:
Is each speaker contributing less than a 6 ohm load? Yes => you are damaging your amps if you continue to shut the receiver down.
How old is your house? Older homes will have more circuits connected to fewer breakers. Buy a cheap multi-meter and check if your receiver circuit is providing the necessary power while running most appliances in your house.
Lastly, check your speaker terminal plates in your wall. They may be shorting at the connections with the heavy gauge you are using.

: I have a Harman Kardon receiver (AVR320) that will occasionally shut itself off while in use. Sometimes it seems to correspond with the AC coming on or the gas stove being lit but other times it just happens. I ran speaker cable in my walls (12 guage) that terminates to wall jacks where the speakers are. Do I have a defective receiver? Do I have power issues in my home? Is there possibly a problem with the wiring within the walls causing an impedence problem that would send the receiver into a standby to protect itself? Any Ideas
