The Zoom 1044 will only burn from a master track. If you have your regular tracks the way you want them, press the track selector button for "Master" (button lites-red). Press record & play to get your takes on the master track. You can do up to 10 virtual takes of the master then pick the best one.
(to do this...push master button again - shows green - then press V-take button and master button again...use jogwheel to select which master take to use for burning). Push 'select' (I think it's called - upper left next to LCD screen - once...press right cursor button (4 times) to CDR/CDRW...press ENTER several times to get thru the pre-burn screens (last screen says "sure?"). Burning proceeds at 2X until "COMPLETE" appears on screen. Material on CD is not audio-CD yet. Finish processing all the Master tracks you wish to use on the CD, then FINALIZE it (go to CDR/CDRW again, as above, ENTER, then cursor key until Finalize option appears on LCD. Press ENTER, etc. There is also a way to program a whole "album" of tunes, which will burn & finalize all in one operation. Write back if you want some help with that. I've had my Zoom MDS-1044 for about two years now. I also have a Fostex VF160. Together they have a lot of capability.
