: I recently bought a Digix HT-1056A DVD Receiving System.

: Please help me figure out how to connect the following components:

: 1. Optimum Interactive Cablevision Box - Sony DHG-M55-CV

: 2. Digix DVD Receiver Surround Sound System HT-1056A

: 3. Sharp Color Television 32W-S610
:
: 4. Sony SLV-620HS VCR and

: 5. Magnovox DVD player - MDV 450

: I thought that the Digix system would allow me to run the audio through the receiver and speakers of the system no matter which audio component I was using.

: I can't get it hooked up at all. I interfaced with the Digix company but they said just hook the Digix video out into the video of the TV, but that doesn't work. I can never get the sound into the receiver and speakers.

: I even scanned the owner's manual schematics and sent it to them but they didn't have an answer for me.

: I wish I could post the owner's manual schematics on the optional link URL, but I don't have a website. If anyone would be nice enough to help, I can e-mail you the scanned schematics.

: thanks in advance

It doesn't look like you have a cabling issue. From what I have read on your unit, they use the phrase "Dolby Digital and dts support Dolby 5.1 Decoding support (through coaxial built-in 5.1 connects)" Support doesn't mean decoding. It sounds like that machine wont decode DD dvd's, only pass the signal (optical or coax) the way a dvd player does.
You should be able to run component Video directly from your Digix to your TV for DVD's on your Digix only. IE: you can't pass video through from your digital cable.

If you want to get Dolby Digital and dts from a second dvd player and digital cable, you need a receiver that has DD and DTS decoding It doesn't appear that your digix system can do what you want it to do.

Good luck
Rick
