I had purchased the captioned DVD player about three years ago and the player has performed admirably up until a few months back – when on an ad hoc basis it started giving the C 13:00 error message. It would not play the disk, the screen would go blank, and the error message would flash. This would happen even in cases when a brand new DVD was being played.
A few other symptoms were noted:
1. The player seems to have become temperamental, in that, on some occasions, it will play a DVD perfectly, whilst in some other cases, I will have to repeatedly eject and insert the DVD to get it to play. Further, if paused during playback of a movie, on release of the pause, the movie will stutter / skip / freeze.
2. Even cleaning / wiping the DVD disc did not produce any better results
3. I have tried cleaning the DVD player lens using conventional lens cleaners to no avail
What could be the problem with the player and how do I resolve it.
Would be grateful to hear from people on their experience on similar problems.
