There is no way of doing this. You have to see the sub as part of a speaker. Imagine that you have 5 different speakers and dont consider it as a bass unit and five speaker. THe system is integrated you can never hear a 5.1 sound with this system. The only case is to add an active woofer on your system. Hope to help you
