I've heard home made Concert Grands that visually looked better than the factory jobs, but didn't have anywhere as much bass as symphonies. If you do anything, overbuild for ridgidity and internal strength. IF you can feel the walls of the speaker box move, put in some 1" slightly underlength dowels and screw them in under tension between the two parallel surfaces. Energy that moves the wood is energy that is lost to moving the air. Best of luck, let everybody know how they come out. P.S. don't scrimp on the capacitors, use good ones!
