I have 4 of these Advent Prodigy Tower Speaker Cabinets. I would like to use them. However I am worried about hurrting the speakers or my reciever by mis matching.
My reciever is a Phillips Suround sound 6 speaker system. 300 watt total. very modest.
that says use only 8 ohm speakers.
My speakers rated Impedence is 6 ohm (nominal
4 ohm (Minimum
Watever that means.
Power Handling is 300 watts (peak)
75 watts (RMS )
Watever that means.
Tweeter is 3/4" Polyamide ferrofluid-filled.
Woofer is 8" High excursion aluminum coil.
Crossover Freq. is 3.0 kHz
Sensitivity is 89dB (2.83volts @ 1meter )
Watever that means.
Freq. Response is 45Hz-23kHz +or- 3dB
Watever that means.
Bottom Line; is there a way or product to convert from 4 ohms to 8 ohms.
Can a Resistor be put in series or parralel to the speaker wires on the back of the cabinet.
If so how do I find out the correct size Resistor to use.
Thanks
Dave
