I own a set of these, and have found that they now function best as the rear channels of my particular surround sound setup.
This actually surprised me at first, and yes, they need a sizable amp to perform this task, but you will not be dis-appointed.
You of course, need some real speakers for your front channels to handle the deep bass (I use a set of Polk SDA/SRS's powered by a Carver TFM-55)
BUT the 901's have an awesome projection and if you have a large room, they will absolutely surprise you with their abilities.
