Hi,
I live in India and have just completed my Electronics Engineering degree. I am very much interested in Audio and Video hi-fi equipment and related technologies.
I have read many times in a local Audio and Video hi-fi magazine named "AV MAX" about a term called 'break-in' of the speakers, especially when they review high end speakers of brands such as B&W(Bower & Wilkins), Boston Acoustics, Dynaudio Jamo, to name a few.
Please can you tell me about this particular term and what is the principle and the exact procedure to "break-in" a speaker that improves the bass response as well as the tonality of the speakers. Are there any special equipment or CD's for this purpose and also what type of sound equalisation is required during this procedure -such as a flat equalisation or an equalisation which has max. bass and treble or just normal equalisation.
Hope you can enlighten me about this term and its technical principle and procedure as I haven't found any information regarding this term or its procedure on the web or also in some technical books on electronics and audio engineering that I have. I will be very gateful for your help in this regard.

Benol.
